North-counter-hall shift, please tell the nu-hall shift clearly if he has to stop or start the run. In a case of a short beam stop such as a linac down for about 10 minutes, do not ask the nu-hall shift to stop the run. ========================================================================= *Schedule* ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ===Beam=== Oct.08(Fri)15:00-18:00 No neutrino beam (Accelerator computer replacement, and beam tuning) 15:00 ; Dump-mode-change by HAYATO ~18:00 ; Dump-mode-change by ISHII Since Oct.11(Mon) is a national holiday, the regular machine maintenance moves to Tuesday. Oct.12(Tue) 9:00 Neutrino beam stops 9:00 ; Dump-mode-change by ISHII 9:00- Machine maintenance, horn maintenance 18:00- Machine study (8GeV) Oct.13(Wed) 7:00-10:00 MR tuning 10:00 After beam channel tuning, neutrino beam starts ~10:00 ; Dump-mode-change by HAYATO ===Detector=== Oct.08(Fri)15:00-18:00 SCIFI cosmic-ray run Oct.12(Tue) 9:00- VETO temporary-PMT replacement, -Oct.13(Wed) ~9:00 SCIFI work on the LED monitor and test run ===Shift=== Nu-H shifts of Oct.12-A,B,C should do a hardware check once and he is free. NH-CR shifts of Oct.12-A,B,C are canceled. Shift time at KEK (SK shift is a little different) A-shift : 9:00-17:15 B-shift : 17:00-25:15 C-shift : 25:00-9:15(next day) ========================================================================= *Reports from each subcomponent* ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ===BEAM MONITOR=== (Sato) On Oct 1(Fri), beam tuning in the neutrino beam line has been done by the beam channel group. After various timing and other checks, we have started data taking from 1AM, Saturday. Beam has stopped at 1AM on Sunday. Beam has resumed on Monday. After timing check and muon IC calibration, started data taking again. Beam has stopped due to earthquake on Wednesday night, but resumed soon. >From 9AM today, operation in the dump mode because of accelerator tuning. Beam is back in the afternoon. Several bad NIM bin crates and other electronics have been replaced. Beam summary plots are in http://neutrino.kek.jp/~satohiro/k2k/mu_mon/summary/ There are some spills with shifted muon center positions especially for the vertical direction. Reason will be investigated. ===MRD=== (Ishii) The MRD has been working well since the beginning of the beam. The semi-online analysis shows that various distributions are OK. ===1KT=== (Miura) On Oct. 2 22:00, a problem happened in 1kt DAQ. It was caused that signal from a Octal FANOUT did not come. When we just plugged out and in the module, it was recovered. It seems that some connection was bad. >From that, we didnot see same trouble. For safety, we have already prepared spare module. I could not find any other problem. ===SCIFI,VETO=== (Iwashita) SciFi SciFi had no big trouble in this week. EL position calibration was successfully done. CR run analysis shows that all of IITs are working. VETO Just before the beam, one broken PMT was replaced with a temporary one. It seems working. The T0 distribution looks OK. ===SCIBAR=== (S.Yamamoto) Just one day before beam resumption, we found one PMT was dead and replaced it with new one. After beam resumption, the detector and monitors are working well. So far we confirmed light yield is stable and same as that of previous runs. After the earthquake at last night, we checked the detector visually. We found no light leak and no dead channel, and the detector looks fine. ===SK=== (Obayashi) * Status of last one week: No big problem Oct.3 8:49 - 9:10 Test run for OD work to fix HV trip * SK event candidates 1 FC neutrino candidate is found in last 1 week.
